Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 10 & 13 Sep 1951

Mrs. Nora Heusted, 81, of Lyons died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rex 
Curtis, of Lansing Sunday afternoon.  She was born March 23, 1870, in Ithaca.  
She was married in 1899 in Ithaca to John Heusted who preceded her in death in 
1936.  She was a member of the Lyons Methodist church and the women’s relief 
corps.  

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Cora Raymond, of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. 
Pauline Fogg of Florida, and Mrs. Mable Bennett and Mrs. Rex Curtis of Lansing; 
two sons, Floyd of Muir and Forrest of Ionia; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-
grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Lyons Methodist church 
with the Rev. Myron E. Hoyt officiating.  Interment will be in Lyons cemetery.  
The body will repose at the family home until time of service.

Lyons – Funeral services for Mrs. Nora Husted, Lyons, were held Wednesday at 2 
p.m. from the Lyons Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. Myron E. Hoyt 
officiating.  The soloists were Mrs. George H. Steadman and Theron Gray with 
Mrs. Fred W. Boyes, accompanist.  The bearers were four grandsons, Russell 
Elsea, St. Johns; Robert and Stanley Curtis, Lansing, Pfc. Jack Husted, Truax, 
Wis., also Lloyd Vincent and Clifton Miller, Lyons.  Burial was in the Lyons 
cemetery. 

Relatives and friends attending services from away were Mrs. Cora Raymond, 
Phoenix, Arizona; Pfc. Jack Husted, Army Air Force Base, Truax, Wis.; Mr. and 
Mrs. Thomas Moore, Battle Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Joel Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Rex 
Curtis, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Curtis; Miss Norine Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley 
Curtis, Mr. and Mrs. John Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Merl Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. 
Arthur Buck, Mrs. Lena Fair, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Getzs, Mrs. Leo Havens, Mrs. 
Kathleen Marks, Mrs. Emma Miller, Mrs. Alice Pearl, Mrs. Zaida Oliver, Lansing; 
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Husted, Muir; Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Husted, John and David, 
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Van Buren, Mrs. Florence Lawson, Ionia; Mr. and Mrs. Russell 
Elsea and Mrs. Kathleen Mason of St. Johns.
