Betty Lorraine Hewer, age 61, of Ionia formerly of Sault Ste. Marie, passed 
away December 9, 2004, in Ionia.  She was born August 27, 1943, in Detroit, the 
daughter of John and Betty Elenore (Horale) Drayton.  She married Vernon Hewer 
August 28, 1976.

She is survived by her loving husband Vernon Hewer of Ionia; son, Harry (Stacy) 
Lillie of Houghton Lake; foster parents Bruce and Lois Tomkins of Grandville; 
brothers, John (Joan) Lillie of Houghton Lake, Harry Lillie of Holland; 
sisters; Janice Tomkins of Grandville; grandchildren, Carrie Sands, Jessica 
Lillie, Theresa Lillie, Tyler Lillie, Kayla Lillie and Katelyn Lillie.

Funeral services for Betty will be held 2 p.m., Monday, at Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia with Pastor Karl Tsatalbasidis officiating.  Interment Sunset Memorial 
gardens.  Visitation will be on Monday 12 p.m. until time of funeral services.  
Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution to Family’s choice.
