Rose was born to Arie and Gertrude Sluiter on December 13, 1921 in Rock Valley, Iowa. She married Arthur A. Heyboer April 23, 1942. They worked side by side for 57 years on the family farm with their two daughters. Rose was known for her beautiful flower gardens, embroidery workmanship, homemade apple pies, support for missions and sense of humor. She was a fun-loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Marie (Jim) VanBuren and Wilma (Kurt) Roudabush; grandchildren, Steve Bird, Lisa Bird, Darcy (Todd) Gooder, Aaron (Tammi) VanBuren, Jeff VanBuren, Allison (Steve) Gilbert, Tanja (Tom) Greenfield, Marsha (Mike) Stephens, Nathan (Megan) Roudabush, Karen (Andrew) Sweigart, Elizabeth (Russell) Spees; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Elvina Slot, Jim (Coral) Sluiter, Maisie Longstreet, Ray (Sandy) Sluiter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jean Sluiter, Ethel Veenstra, Jim (Martina) Heyboer, William Heyboer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, infant daughter, Mary Ann, brother, Arie Sluiter Jr. and infant great grandson, Samuel Greenfield. Rose’s family would like to thank Evelyn Cramer and Dawn Skidmore loving care, and Elizabeth Rozeboom and Spectrum Health Hospice for their care and support over the last few months. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the South Boston Bible Church. Interment South Boston Cemetery. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to European Baptist Fellowship.
