Heydenburk, 63, of Ionia, passed away unexpectantly Wednesday, March 22, 2000. Joel Wesley Heydenburk was born the son of James and Marie (Stoudt) Heydenburk on Jan. 20, 1937, in Lansing. He married the former Joyce Hoxie on Sept. 8, 1962. Joel worked for the State of Michigan, retiring in 1993. Joel also drove the Ionia Dial-A-Ride bus and was a member of the Ionia American Legion. Surviving Mr. Heydenburk are his wife, Joyce; four sons, Jay (Linda) Heydenburk of Ionia, Mark (Tina) Heydenburk of Mendon, Daniel (Katherine) Heydenburk of Portland, James Heydenburk of Ionia; one daughter, Traci (Brian) Horacek of Muskegon; eight grandchildren; his mother, Maria Durbin of Ionia; one brother, Michael Heydenburk of Lansing; several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2000 at the Cook Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Darren Tharp and Pastor Paul Carmichael officiating. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials have been established for the Kidney Foundation of Michigan in care of Cook Funeral Home.
