Belding Banner, 22 Jul 1897

Robt. C. Heydlauff, formerly and for many years a resident of Muir, committed
suicide at Ashland, Wis., one day last week.  He was under arrest for the
alleged forging of a county order for $3,081; and although he said he was
innocent, the explanation he gave didn’t go and rather than go to prison he took
his own life.
