Daniel Hickey, 94, of Lake Odessa went to be with his Lord, Sunday, April 25, 
1999.  He was born April 1, 1905, in Nashville, the son of Daniel and Rosa 
(Maurer) Hickey.  He married Sopha Allarding on Dec. 28, 1929, and she preceded 
him in death on Feb. 21, 1989.



He attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit for eight years.  Surviving are 
his daughters, Patricia (Tom) Curran, of Grand Rapids; Mary (Bill) Sutton, of 
Lake Odessa; sons, James (Rosemary) Hickey, of Lake Odessa, William (Pam) 
Hickey of Florida, Michael (Nancy) Hickey, of Lake Odessa; brothers, Louis 
(Donna) Hickey, of Nashville, John (Norma) Hickey, of Charlotte, Maurice 
Hickey, of Lake Odessa; sister, Margaret (Anthony) Birch, of Milan; and many 
nieces and nephews.  



He is preceded in death by brothers, Leo and Joseph Hickey; and sisters, Agnes 
Garvey, Josephine Dean and Mary McIntee.



Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward's Catholic 
Church with Fr. Tom Boufford officiating.  Interment will be in Mount Calvery 
Cemetery.  Visitation is today from 2 pm to 4 pm at Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake 
Odessa, and from 6:30 pm to 9 pm at the church.  A vigil will be prayed tonight 
at 7 pm at St. Edward's.  Memorials may be made to the St. Edward Building Fund.
