Excerpts from Lake Odessa Obituary

ROSEMARY F. HICKEY

Died Tuesday, February 3, 2026-age 91 of Lake Odessa.
Born February 22, 1934 in Lake Odessa, the youngest member of the O'Mara Family.
Rosie helped on the family farm, raising Angus cattle & creating fond memories 
with her blind pony,Amos.
She spend her entire life in Lake Odessa contributing to the community she 
cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Emma O'Mara, her husband 
James"Jim" Hickey, her siblings, Marie O'Mara, Thomas O'Mara, Lawrence O'Mara & 
Pauline Hubbard, her nephews, Mike O' Mara & Phil O'Mara, niece, Susan Czonka, & 
in-laws, Mary O'Mara, Norma O'Mara, & Ken Hubbard.
Survived by her children,Perry (Deborah) Hickey, Joe (Criss) Hickey, Kathleen 
Hickey, Bill (Violet) Hickey & Mary Beth (Jim) Garofalo.
Her Grandchildren,Becky (Mark) Gromala, Aaron (Megan) Hickey,David (Sarah) 
Hickey, Emma Hickey, Daniel Goodemoot, Liam (Emily) Hickey,Aiden (Katherine) 
Hickey, Bryan (Alison) Haskins, Matt (Alexis) Haskins, & Nick Haskins.
Great-grandchildren,Clair, Carson, Wyatt, Sophia, Jameson, Evelyn, Brooklynn, 
Palmer, Ruthie & Lee.
Rosemary was known for her excellent cooking, especially her Salisbury Steak & 
Rosie's Rolls, which were enjoyed at many community meals.
She was passionate about genealogy & a devoted member of the Lake Odessa 
Historical Society & the Woodland Women's Study Club.
An active member of St.Edwards Catholic Church & the Jackson Mutchler VFW Post 
#4461.
Visitation at Koops Family Chapel, Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 1p.m. until 4 
p.m.with Rosary held at 3:30 p.m. 
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St.Edwards Catholic Church on 
Monday, February 9, 2026 at 11 a.m. with burial at Lakeside Cemetery immediately 
following.
