DOD: April, 1950 Word has been received here of the death of a former Lyons resident, Merle D. Hickok, 71, at his home in Superior, Arizona of a heart attack. Mr. Hickok was a native of Sheridan going to Grand Rapids in 1902 where he was electrician for the Pere Marquette railroad. In 1920 he moved to Arizona where he was electrician for (unreadable) Cooper Co. at Superior until he retired a year ago. Mr. Hickok was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hickok of Lyons. He was a member of Lyons lodge F.A.A. M. He is survived by one brother Lee Hickok, of Davisburg, Oakland County and one sister Mrs. Harry V. Owen, of Grand Rapids. The body arrived in Grand Rapids Monday and will be at the Eggebeen funeral home for one day when graveside services will be held in Fulton street cemetery under the auspices of the Masonic order.
