Hickok, 55 of Traverse City, a former Ionian, died Friday near Traverse City in a boating accident. He was a plant manager for an automobile related industry. Born in Reading, Mich., Nov. 20, 1930, he was the son of Glenn and Esther Dygert Hickok. He attended and graduated from Ionia High School, and was a member of Ionia Elks Lodge. His wife, Mary, to whom he was married June 27, 1981, survives him. Also surviving are two daughters, Carol Woolston of Tampa, Fla., and Julie Ann Hickok of Belding; three sons Stephen of Traverse City, Terry of Ionia and Mark of Belding; two stepdaughters, Peggy Ann Dearing and Brenda M. Weber, both of Traverse City; and six stepsons, Robert, Craig, Kurt, Theodore, Thomas and Randal Weber, all of Traverse City; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Sandford (Janet) Yeomans of Ionia and Ardeth White of Rolla, Mo.; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday from the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Traverse City, with the Rev. Tim Stewart officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Mapleton. A memorial has been established for the Peninsula Fire Department, Traverse City.
