Bridge street. She was 81 years of age and had been in poor health for some time. Mrs. Hicks was born in Otisco township September 12, 1857, the daughter of Jake and Laura Rose, early settlers in Otisco. She was married to Jerome Hicks and they resided on a farm near this city, later taking a farm near Lakeview. They were the parents of three children, who survive. Following her husband’s death Mrs. Hicks made her home with her children in this city, Big Beaver and Grant. Surviving besides the two daughters, Mrs. Harmon Kohler of Grant and Mrs. Ardis Jones of this city, and the son, Henry Hicks of Big Beaver, are 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Rev. W. F. Lane of the Church of God officiated at the funeral services which were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Fitzjohn funeral home. Burial was in River Ridge cemetery.
