Ionia Standard - Friday, Dec. 8, 1916

The funeral for D. A. Hicks was held Tuesday afternoon in the Baptist church, 
Rev. E. E. Branch officiating. Mrs. H. E. Spencer and Mrs. Eugene Smith sang. 
The Rebekah lodge attended in a body, and both Masons and Odd Fellows 
contributed handsome floral pieces. The bearers were chosen from both lodges - 
Dr. J. J. Culp, E. W. More and G. F. Faude from the Masons and Francis Hall, 
Fred Higbee and Henry Witzel from the I.O.O.F.
