BARBARA HIEMSTRA

Died Tuesday April 21, 2026-age 80 of Grand Haven,MI.
Born February 27, 1946, in Ionia,MI to Maurice & Dorothy (Olshack) Weiers.
Married Danny Hiemstra on April 25, 1986 in Grand Haven.
Barbara loved to travel & embrace every new adventure.
Over the years, she & Danny lived in many place, including Grand Rapids, Big 
Rapids, Eugene & Tualatin, Oregon; Bloomington Illinois; Pittsburg; Holland, 
Battle Creek; Saint Charles, Missouri; & Grand Haven.
Barbara always wanted to enter the professional world.
Barbara's fist positions were in advertising for the Ionia Sentinel Standard & 
later for the Charlotte Tribune.
She worked for Kennedy Research & then in bank Management & later as a realtor.
She enjoyed collecting recipes, caring for orchids & loving her pets & 
reminiscing with friends & family.
Survived by her husband of 40 years, Danny Hiemstra; her children, Brenda(Tom) 
Trebian, Kolenda & James (Tracy) Trebian; step-children Michelle (John) Young & 
Michael (Cejanet) Hiemstra; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, & brothers, 
David & Gregory Weiers.
Preceded in death by her parents and her former husband Harold Trebian.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 16, 2026 at St.John 
Episcopal Church (524 Washington Ave.Grand Haven,MI 49417)
