NELSON HIGBEE OF ORLEANS IS CANCER VICTIM
Well Known Ionia County Resident to Be Buried Tuesday Afternoon from Grange 
Hall

Nelson Higbee, a resident of Orleans Township for many years, died at 3 
o’clock Saturday afternoon at the age of 63 years.  The cause of death was 
cancer, from which he had suffered for many years.  Mrs. Higbee passed away 
last fall.  The family lived near what is known as Higbee crossing in 
Orleans.  Mr. Higbee is survived by one son, Clarence Higbee, who lived with 
his father; one brother, James Higbee, who lives in northern Michigan, and a 
sister, Mrs. David Walters, North Dexter Street, Ionia.  The funeral service 
will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Grange Hall near Higbee 
cemetery.  Rev. Charles J. Kruse will conduct the service.
