Born in Pewamo August 5, 1911, he was the son of Roscoe and Madge Stoddard Higbee and attended the Pewamo school. He had lived most of his life in Ionia county where he worked on a farm several years. He later was employed at the Integral Engineering company until the time of his retirement in 1971. July 18, 1964 he was married in Saranac to Mary Mier and they owned and operated the Higbee Rest home on Nickle Plate the past 11 years. He had served with the air force in World War II with most of his service in the South Pacific area. He was a member of the Statewide Home Care Association. He is survived by his wife, Mary; son Richard A. Higbee of Belding; three granddaughters; two brothers, Glen of Bath and Sylvester of Mason; sister, Mrs. Bernita Mooney of Nashville and half sister, Mrs. Ginger Webster of Florida. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick funeral home. Rev.
