Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2 Aug 1976

Mrs. Hazel Higbee, 88, of Belding, died Sunday at Belding Community Hospital. 
She was born in Ronald township, December 31, 1887 and was a lifetime area
resident.  She was a seamstress and member of Belding First Baptist church.  Her
husband, Carlton E. Higbee, died July 14, 1962.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Voleta Lohry, Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin; Mrs.
Norman Johnson, Ovid; and one son, Gordon Higbee, Orleans; 10 grandchildren and
18 great-grandchildren.  Her parents were the former Arthur Smith and Anna Worden.

Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Charles M. Courser Funeral
Home, Belding, Rev. Alfred P. Miller officiating.  Interment will be in the
Woodard Lake Cemetery.  A fund is established for the Belding First Baptist
church.  Visitation will be Monday, 7 to 8:30 p.m., and Tuesday, 2 to 4 p.m. and
7 to 8:30 p.m.
