The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, March 2, 1943

Mrs. Lana B. Higgins, wife of Frank B. Higgins, died Tuesday morning at 4 
o’clock at her home in South Ionia after an illness of one and one-half years. 

Surviving her besides her husband, Frank, is a son, Cpl. Harold. S. Higgins of 
the United States army; one granddaughter, Geraldine Higgins; her parents, Mr. 
and Mrs. Burr Stowell; one brother, Russell Stowell.

Her son, Cpl. Bud Higgins, was called to Ionia by the serious illness of his 
mother, but must report back to his base immediately as his battalion is being 
moved to an unknown destination.  He will not be able to attend funeral 
services for his mother.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at  2:30 o’clock at the 
Bradley funeral home.  Rev. Paul Stewart will officiate and burial will be in 
Easton cemetery.
