Daily Sentinel-Standard (Pg. 4) - Monday, Oct. 25, 1948

Frank Higgins, about 61 years of age, was found dead on the davenport in the 
living room of his South Ionia home at 6 a.m. Monday by his son, Harold, with 
whom he lived. Coroner Dale Kauffman, who was summoned on the case, said he had 
been dead about an hour when he was found and attributed his death to a heart 
attack. He had been in failing health for some time but was taken seriously 
(missing word) Sunday night.

He was born in Easton township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace B. Higgins. He 
was well-known in this area as a fur-buyer. Mr. Higgins was married to the 
former Lena Stowell who died several years ago.

Surviving him are a son, Harold, of South Ionia; a granddaughter, Geraldine; a 
brother, Clarence, of Belding; and two sisters, Mrs. Ewald Finner of Detroit 
and Mrs. Robert Brownell of California. 

Funeral services will be held from the Bradley funeral home at 2:30 p.m. 
Wednesday with Dr. Paul Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the family 
lot, Easton cemetery.
