Ionia Sentinel Standard, Tues, June 28, 1988
IONIA - Carl L. Higgins, 70, of 4063 Westbrook Road, Ionia, died Sunday at 
Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

He was born Sept. 21, 1917, in Ronald Township, the son of William E. and Janie 
McQuaid Higgins.

He was graduated from Ionia High School in 1935 and was married to Donna Decker 
Feb. 16, 1946 in Ionia.

He was employed for 18 years for Mitchell-Bentley Corp. and A O. Smith Co., 
retiring because of ill health in 1970.  He was also a lifelong farmer in Ronald 
Township.

He was a life member of Pearl Lake Masonic Lodge of Sheridan.  Surviving are 
this wife, Donna; a son and daughter; three grandchildren; two sisters, Beatrice 
Cobb of Indianapolis, Ind. and Frances Moore of Dansville, Ind.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith in 1954.

Arrangements by Cook Funeral Home, Ionia.
Burial in North Plains Cemetery.
