For the past three years Mrs. High has spent her winters in Ann Arbor and her summers in her home here in Lake Odessa. Mr. and Mrs. George High came to Lake Odessa from Sebewa about 20 years ago and Mr. High died here about six years ago. Mrs. High was a dearly beloved woman, making many friends wherever she went. Her maiden name was Mahala Whalla. The body was brought to her home here accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Morse. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the home, Rev. A.E. Gay preaching and Mrs. M.G. Morgan and Mrs. Wm. Tietz, accompanied by Mrs. Thos. Johnson, furnished the music. Burial was at Lake Side cemetery beside her husband. On account of the illness of Mrs. Morse’s son George in Ann Arbor, Mrs. Morse was obliged to return to Ann Arbor immediately after the funeral of her mother. Mrs. Morse is the only child.
