She had been in poor health for some time but was taken seriously ill the fore part of last week. It was deemed necessary to take her to the hospital early Friday morning for operative work. Death was attributed to peritonitis. Mrs. Maryetta Kaser Hildebrand was the daughter of James C. Kaser, having been born in Sherwood, Ohio. Shortly before her marriage to Mr. Hildebrand, her family moved to this state. The Hildebrands have lived here for over 30 years. The husband has been a helpless invalid for a number of years following repeated strokes. The sudden passing of his life’s companion is a distinct shock to him. Other survivors besides the bereaved husband are a daughter, Mrs. William Cusick, of Benton Harbor; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Owen and Mrs. Frank Rowe, both of this city; six brothers, Roy and Clyde, of Belding; Clarence of Elkhart, Ind.; Willis of Bar Lake, Colo.; Charles of Deerfield, and Melvin of Toledo, Ohio. The services on Monday were in charge of Arthur J. Fitzjohn. Rev. L. W. Gibbs, pastor of the Free Methodist church, officiated and burial was in River Ridge cemetery.
