Oct. 15, 1959 WESLEY E. HILE Wesley E. Hile, 76, of Berlin Center, a prominent Berlin Township farmer, died Monday, October 5, at his farm home. He had spent four weeks in Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, where he was admitted August 24. For the past 25 days he had been at this home in Berlin Center. Born June 19, 1883 in Berlin Township, Mr. Hile was the son of Milton and Phebe Rogers Hile. He graduated from Saranac High School and attended Ferris Institute, Big Rapids, and Albion College. He taught in the Berlin Center and Benedict schools until his marriage January 15, 1908 to Myrtle S. Fisher. Mr. and Mrs. Hile had resided at their present home for 48 years. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1958. He was best known for his raising of registered Poland - China hogs and for the annual sales he had conducted or the past 35 years, the last one being in October, 1958. Mr. Hile was a member of the Berlin Center Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle; one daughter, Mrs. Albert Mosser of Portland; one son, Howard of Berlin Township; and four grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 8, at the Boynton Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. J. Lawrence Ward officiating. Interment will be in Saranac Cemetery.
