The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, March 6, 1980

Ben W. Hill, 78, of Sheridan, died Tuesday at the Greenville United Memorial 
Hospital.  Born Feb. 22, 1902, the son of Fred and Minnie Hill, Mr. Hill was a 
life-long resident of Sheridan and a retired Gibson employee.

His wife Fannie Jane preceded him in death in 1954.  Surviving are one 
daughter, Mrs. Larry (Karen) Yaw; four sons, Gordon Hill of West….(Illigible)…
Hill, of Saranac; four sisters, Mrs. Julia Preston, of Bushnell, Florida, Mrs. 
Vera Ross, of Sheridan, Mrs. Vera Shutz, of Flint and Mrs. Beulah Lund, of 
Sheridan; two sister-in-laws, Lucille Telfor, of Belding and Mrs. Francis 
Petersen of Ionia; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be today at the Stebbins-Simpson Funeral Home, Sheridan, 
at 3:30 p.m.  The Rev. Edwin Mendenhall will officiate.  Burial will be in the 
Easton Cemetery.  Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society can be 
made at the funeral home.
