Andrew E. Hill age 80 of Saranac passed away December 28, 2006 in Grand 
Rapids.  He was born July 9, 1926 in Grand Rapids the son of Andrew E. and 
Florence M. Race Hill.  He was a graduate of Saranac High School.  He married 
Billie Greenwald July 23, 1948.  Andy was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a 
fireman for the Saranac Fire Department serving as chief for 18 years.  He 
retired from the State of Michigan at what is now known as Riverside 
Correctional Facility after 37 years in Power Plant Operations. 

Andy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Billie Hill of Saranac; sons, 
Andrew and Teri Hill of Illinois, Colin (Coke) and Judith Hill of Saranac, 
Martin and Michelle Hill of Midland; sisters, Hildegarde Pierce of Grand 
Rapids, Helen Sykes of Saranac, Eleven grandchildren and four great 
grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brother in laws, 
Joe Sykes and Jack Pierce.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday at First Baptist Church in 
Lowell with Pastor David Sims officiating. Interment Saranac Cemetery. The 
family will receive friends and relatives Saturday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Lake 
Funeral Home in Saranac. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to 
Saranac Fire Dept. or First Baptist Church of Lowell Building Fund.
