The Lake Odessa Wave, June 29, 1944


Mrs. Isabelle Henderson Hiller, 92, passed away at her home on north Jordan 
Lake avenue Tuesday afternoon after a period of poor health for a year and a 
half.  She was born in Jedburgh, Scotland, on November 25, 1851.

She came with her parents across the ocean when she was six years old they 
making the trip by sail in about six weeks.  They came direct to Ionia county, 
Michigan, and after living in Keene township for a few years, they settled in 
Odessa.  In 1875 she was married to Christian Hiller who died in 1918.

Mrs. Hiller was a beloved old lady, a member of the Congregational church.  
She leaves a sister, Miss Mary Henderson, 88, in Odessa, and two sons, Ernest 
J. at Charlevoix and Archie L. in Odessa, six grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.

The funeral will be held from the Wortley & Baine chapel Friday afternoon at 2 
with the Rev. J. W. Winger officiating.  Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
