Ionia Sentinel, 21 Nov 1967

Edward R. Hillis, 59, of route 3, Portland, died Monday of a heart attack while 
deer hunting on his farm near Portland where he was born March 9, 1908.

He was an employee of TRW in Portland for the past 13 years.

He leaves his wife Mary; two sons John Hillis of Portland and LaVern Weisenberg 
of Battle Creek; four daughters Mrs. Jean Burt and Mrs. Catherine Parrish both 
of Charlotte, Mrs. Grace Wood of North Carolina, Mrs. Maxine Raymond of Battle 
Creek; 30 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Mabel 
Hillis of Mount Dora, Fla.; five sisters.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Neller funeral home with Rev. 
Raymond Norton of Portland Methodist church officiating.  Burial will be in 
Portland cemetery.  Bearers will be Elmer Fedewa, Clare Cross, Leon Pohl, Harry 
Pohl, Peter Fetzer and Donald May.
