Lakeview- Violetta Hillman, 78, Lakeview, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, in
Grand Rapids.  She was born Dec. 28, 1922, in Belding, the daughter of Ira and
Florence Palmateer.  She was raised by her mother and stepfather Florence and
Charles Middlebrook.  On April 18, 1947, she married Dick B. Hillman, who survives.

Violetta is also survived by her mother, Florence Middlebrook of Lakeview; her
two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Judy Hillman of Greenville, Randy and
Raquel Hillman of Big Rapids; her six grandchildren and spouses, Mike and Karen
Hillman of Lowell, Mark Hillman of Greenville, Sheri and Roger Willmore of
Belding, Bobbie and John Hillman-Hook of Virginia Beach, Va., Vickie and Wayne
Stanbury, and Charles Hillman of Clinton Township.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ira Palmateer; stepfather, Charles
Middlebrook; and her brother, Kenneth Palmateer.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Youngman-McCullough Chapel,
Lakeview, with the Rev. Truman Raak officiating.  Interment will take place in
Hillcrest Cemetery, Six Lakes.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8
p.m. at the funeral chapel.
