Henry Hinderleider passed away last Friday night at his home north of town at Odessa Center, after an illness of 18 days only from paralysis as the result of his fall in a runaway accident election day by as mentioned in the Wave-Times at that time. At first the lower half of the body only was so affected, but the trouble grew worse gradually and so finally overcoming the vital organs, thus causing death. The funeral was held Monday forenoon at the house conducted by Elder Mourer. A choir consisting of Mesdames A.J. Dann and Fanny Tucker and Messrs W.J. Percival and Stanley W. Dann with Miss Myrtie Pearson as accompaniest, rendered some very appropriate music. Interment was in Lakeside cemetery. Henry Hinderleider was born in Niagara county, N.Y. Aug. 24, 1842, being thus at the time of death 68 years, 2 months and 24 days of age. At the age of 16 he with his parents moved to Orange, Ionia Co., Mich. later moving to Berlin, Mich. At the age of 21 he enlisted in the 21st Michigan Infantry, in which he served 3 years. On Jan. 1st 1867 he was united in marriage to Harriett Gardner of Berlin. To this union were born four children, Edward E. Emerson J., Francis R. and Jennie E. all of whom with their mother were with him during his last hours. In 1877 he with his family moved to Odessa township where he has resided ever since and they have made for themselves a pleasant and comfortable home. He is survived by his wife, four children, three sisters and two brothers, the names of the sisters being Mrs. Mary Lambert of west Berlin on the old home farm, Mrs.Sarah Potter of Lake City, and Mrs.Louise Faulkner near Berlin Center, and of the brothers being James of northwest Odessa and Charles who has lived with his brother, Henry and family. Mr. Hinderleider was well and favorably known to a large circle of acquaintances and warm friends all of whom unite in extending sincere sympathy to the family in this their sad hour of deep bereavement.
