Ionia Standard, 16 Mar 1906

Stephen R. Hinds died at the farm home in Orange at 6:30 o’clock on Monday
evening, after an illness of about six months.  He was aged 47 years, and was
born and always lived in Orange township, where he was greatly esteemed for his
frugal mien and rugged honesty.  He was one of a family of four boys and two
girls who have done their full share in the development of their neighbors, and
the betterment of society.  The wife and two children, Lina and Jessie, both
daughters, survive, as do also the aged and good mother, the three brothers:
John O., William T., and Albert, and a sister, Mrs. Clarence Wolverton.  Funeral
on Thursday, at 1 o’clock (sun time) at the home, and at 2 o’clock at the
church.  Interment in Balcom’s.
