Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2 Jun 1930

Just one week from the day she was fatally stricken with an acute attack of
Bright’s disease, Mrs. John Hinds was laid to rest in the Balcom cemetery.  The
services were conducted from the house in Orange township Sunday afternoon at 2
o’clock and from the LeValley church at 2:30 by her pastor, Rev. C. H. Thies.

Friends came from far and near to attend the services, many of whom had been
associated with Mrs. Heinz during her long residence in Orange township in the
church circles to which she gave so freely over time.  Many others came who had
been trained for church leadership under direction and still others who had
found so much kindly assistance from Mrs. Hinds.  The only music for the
services were the piano selections played by Mrs. William Weigerber while people
were being seated in the church and as they were leaving.  The flowers were
beautiful and in charge of Mrs. Clyde Stout and Mrs. Mary Chapin.  The bearers
were Frank Taft, Andrew Townsend, Seymour Gates, Warren Brickley, Francis Larson
and Ed S. Townsend.

Those from out of town to attend the services were Mrs. Marcia Lockwood, Mrs.
Lyle Lockwood, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Haynes and children, of Cedar Springs; Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Davis, Charles and Gilbert, Muskegon; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bird,
Cadillac; Mrs. Judson Kingsley and children, Grandville; Mrs. Mary Cool,
Freeport; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bonesteel, Grand Rapids; Dr. Ray Pinkham, Lansing;
Mrs. Anna Post, Belding; Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Post, Hemlock; Miss Mabel Hinds,
Mt. Clemens; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Morris, Grand Ledge.
