The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, February 16, 1962
Roy N. Hinds, 71, lifelong resident of Orange township, died Thursday morning 
at Ionia County Memorial hospital.  He was a patient there one week.  Born 
July 3, 1890 in Orange township, he was the son of John and Ellen Hinds and 
was married in 1917 to Sarah Payne.  Mr. Hinds was a member of LeValley 
Methodist church, Farm Bureau, and was Orange township clerk six years.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah; two daughters, Mr. A. M. Bittenbender of 
Placerville, California, and Mrs. Gerald Carpenter of Lake Odessa; seven 
grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Wellington Smith of Berlin township.

The Body will be at Stone-Kauffman funeral home until Monday noon when it will 
be removed to LeValley Methodist church for service at 2 p.m.  Interment will 
be at Balcom cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home Saturday and 
Sunday evenings from 7 until 9 to receive friends.
