Hinds, prominent Orange township farmer, died Thursday at 2:15 p.m. in Ionia after a lengthy illness. She was born March 13, 1874 in Orange township, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Benedict, attending the Benedict school and Ionia high school. She spent her entire life in Orange township. In 1896 she was married to Albert h. Hinds at her home and since then has lived on the present farm. Mr. and Mrs. Hinds had been married 56 years and celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary at their home. She was a member of LeValley Methodist church and was active in the church work as Sunday school teacher and was a musical leader having played the piano and organ at the church for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid and the Missionary society. Surviving besides the husband are a sister, Mrs. Anna Williams of Whitmore Lake; and three brothers, Ross, Elmer and Floyd Benedict. Another brother, Earl, preceded her in death. The body will repose at the farm home from Friday evening until 1 p.m. Sunday when it will be removed to LeValley church. Services will be conducted at the church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Henry Ball. Interment will be in Balcom cemetery.
