Michael John Hinkley, age 66, of Alto, passed away February 12, 2014 in 
Saranac.  He was born July 21, 1947 in St. Johns the son of Loyal Riley and 
Florence May (Pellow) Hinkley.

Michael worked as a pharmacist for many years.  He taught pharmacy tech classes 
at Mott Community College.  Mike enjoyed classic cars and hunting.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Laurie (Jason) Binkley of Saranac; 
grandchildren, Xander and Kailyn; brother, Daniel (Mary) Hinkley of Big Rapids; 
sisters, Kathleen (Jim) Bearup of Elsie and Dolores (Herb) Bucholtz of St. 
Johns and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlene Hinkley; son, Scott 
Michael Hinkley; brothers, David & Donald Hinkley and nephew, Daniel Minarik.

Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Lake Funeral Home 
in Ionia with Pastor Nancy Patera officiating.  Visitation will be held one 
hour prior to service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made 
in Michael’s name to the STOP Foodborne Illness Foundation and 
www.cancerresearch.org.
