Mr. John Hoffman died late Wednesday evening, Oliver Hitchcock early Thursday morning. Mr. Hitchcock, who was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hitchcock, had been in poor health a number of months. Tuberculosis of the lungs was the cause. Mr. Hitchcock was born on the farm where he died, north of the village, May 21, 1888. Fifteen years ago he married Miss Edith Goodwin and the couple have three children – Durwood, 12; Jeanette, 9; Florence, 2. Funeral services for Mr. Hitchcock were held Sunday at the house, Rev. John H. Stewart, of the Baptist church, officiating. Burial was in Portland.
