All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Marilyn Ransom mlnransom@chartermi.net August 1, 2010, 3:12 pm The Lyons Herald, Thursday, January 20, 1921 Last Thursday afternoon fellow workmen brought Ernest Hizer to his home here from Ionia, where he was employed by the Hayes-Ionia company, in an unconscious condition, suffering from a stroke of apoplexy and he died Sunday afternoon without regaining consciousness. Deceased was born in Lyons on August 27, 1867, and died Sunday, January 16, 1921, aged 53 years, 4 months and 19 days. He united in marriage with Miss Bristow Fraser of this village in Ionia June 20, 1903, who with three children survive. They left for New Jersey shortly after their marriage, where he was employed at his trade of a painter. While employed in Salem, Ohio, in June 1918, he suffered a severe illness and shortly thereafter they returned to Lyons to make their home. Besides the widow, two sons and a daughter, he is survived by two brothers, Wm H., of Detroit and Herbert D., of West Park, Ohio, who are here to attend the funeral; as is also a brother-in-law, John Fraser of Port Huron. The funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at two o’clock from the Lyons M. E. church, conducted by Rev. Chas. Nease. Interment will be made in the Lyons cemetery.
