Hoag, which were held from the Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock were marked by the large attendance of friends and relatives and the group of Masons who attended in a body. Many lovely flowers also testified to the esteem of this pioneer business man who died Friday. Dr. C.C. Culp, William Marquette, William Morey, ad Albert Russell were the bearers. The services at the church consisted of the prayer, Scripture, and sermon by Rev. Alfred Trenerry and two pipe organ selections by Mrs. Leonard Swanson. Those from away to attend the services were Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Hoag, Mrs. R.B. Hoag, and Mr. and Mrs. L.P. Hoag, of Springport, Dr. and Mrs. C. E. Beeman, Miss Marjorie Byers, Miss Josephine Tandler, and Miss Mildred Sutter, of Grand Rapids, William Peckham , of Albion; and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Peckham and son, of Jackson. The interment was made in the mausoleum at Highland Park cemetery.
