Hodge, Sr., 63, passed away on February 11, 2009. He was born on June 7, 1945 in Portland the son of Albert and Geraldine (Gensterblum) Hodge. Bob was member of the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090 and the American Legion in Holt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, worked at Holt Public Schools for 22 years and a avid Detroit Tigers fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert, niece Kelly Pline and brother- in-law, James Miller. Surviving are his sons Ronald and Robert (fiancee Meghan Frazer) both of Portland; mother Geraldine Hodge of Portland; sisters Irene Miller of Woodland, Connie (Chuck) Carr, Linda (Doug) Brown, and Jane (Keith) Pline all of Portland; brothers Gary (Barb) Hodge of Portland, William (Sharon) Hodge of Flint, Ronald (Sue) Hodge of Grand Ledge and Mike (Sherry) Hodge of Portland; special friends Larry Badder, Craig Hoppes, all of Papa Hodges kids and his special buddy Sarge. Mass of Christian was celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland with Rev. John Klein officiating. Rite of Committal followed at Danby Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors were provided by the V.F.W. Post #4090. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.
