Hodges, 67, of Belding, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 30, 2002, at Metron of Belding Nursing Home. He was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Smyrna, the son of Elmer C. and Bessie Carr Hodges. He served in the United States Army 3rd Armor Division in Germany. He later worked for Clark Amusements. Alfred was a member of American Legion Post 203 and VFW Post 4406, both of Belding. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer C. Hodges, and two brothers, Clarence Jr. and Jack. He is survived by his mother, Bessie Hodges of Belding; brother, Gerald Hodges of Montana; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Edward Holderman of Cadillac, Marjorie and Jim Pederson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Friday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Connie Shatz of Belding United Methodist Church officiating. Interment is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alvah N. Belding Library.
