Hodges, 83, died Sunday evening at his home, 257 East Washington street. He was born in Boston township and lived in Saranac as a boy, coming to Ionia in 1882 where he worked for the Pere Marquette railroad. He was married to Flora Elliott of Lake Odessa in 1886 and has resided in Ionia since. He is survived by his wife; one son, Elliott Hodges of Ionia; and two grandchildren, Betty Jane of Ann Arbor and Hugh of Ionia. He was a member of lodge No. 175 IOOF for 50 years. Funeral services will be held from the Myers funeral home Wednesday at 3 o’clock. Burial will be at the Saranac cemetery in charge of the Ionia Oddfellows.
