The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, March 28, 1957
William James Hodgkins, 81, 215 North Jackson street, died Wednesday at noon 
at the Ionia County Memorial hospital where he had been a patient for three 
weeks.  A son of Anna and John Hodgkins Sr., he was born December 15, 1876.  A 
former resident of Grand Rapids, Mr. Hodgkins came to Ionia in 1954 after the 
death of his wife Louella.  He was formerly employed by Owen Ames Kimball 
Construction company in Grand Rapids.  

Surviving are his brother, John Hodgkins and a sister, Miss Emma Hodgkins, 
both of Ionia.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the 
Myers funeral home with Rev. George Rentschler officiating.  Burial will be in 
Tuttle cemetery.
