Clara V. Britton was born in Lysander, Onandaga county, New York, July 10th, 
1835, and died August 2nd, 1922, at the home of her nephew, C.A. Sperling, in 
Lyons, where she had been cared for since the death of her husband, Anthony F. 
Hodgson, in November, 1920.

She was married to Anthony F. Hodgson in 1856 and spent the remaining years of 
her life in this vicinity.  She is survived by a brother, Phil Britton, and a 
sister, Delia Britton, both of Lysander, New York.

Funeral services were held at the Sperling home in Lyons Friday, conducted by 
Rev. V. C. Webb of the Baptist church and interment made in Lyons cemetery, 
beside the remains of her late husband.
