His death was very sudden, as he had eaten his dinner and shortly after dropped dead. Deceased was born in Keswick, England, February 15th, 1835, and died Nov. 11th, 1920, aged 85 years 8 months and 26 days. He came to the United States in 1841, and in 1856 was united in marriage to Clara V. Britton, who survives him. He spent most of his life in this vicinity, following the business of farming until failing health and old age compelled him to retire from active labors some eight years ago, when he moved to this village, where he has since resided. Funeral services were held from the Baptist church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Vincent C. Webb. Vocal music was furnished by F.M. Strong, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Eugene Vance. The bearers were E.S. Fuller, H.A. Ranger, W.H. Sherwood and E.M. Vance. Interment was made in the family lot in Lyons cemetery.
