Born Arzelia Parks November 29, 1885 in Clinton county, her parents were Samuel and Jennie (Barber) Parks. She attended country school and lived much of her life in Clinton county. The past 30 years, she made her home in Ionia. She was married to Herman Hoerner in Fowler and he died in 1955. Mrs. Hoerner was a member of the Ionia First Methodist church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Bennett of Lyons; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Willyoung of Fowler, Mrs. Ruth Smith of St. Johns and Mrs. Leona Craft of Lyons and Mrs. Amelia Bashore of Muir. The body is at the Osgood funeral home in St. Johns where services were held Monday, December 16 at 3 p.m. Interment was in Mt. Rest cemetery at St. Johns. The Rev. L.O. Merritt officiated.
