The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, April 2006
Richard Lee Hofer, 84, of Portland and formerly Ionia, passed away on Friday, 
April 23, 2006. He was born on September 28, 1921 in Lima, Ohio the son of 
Eugene and Gretchen (Maltby) Hofer.  He owned Dick's Body Shop in Ionia for 25 
years and was a member of the Ionia Moose Lodge. He and his wife Connie spent 
the last 29 years in Bradenton, Fla.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Connie (Patton); daughters, Delores Irish 
of Coal Hill, Ark. and Donna Talladay of Little River, S.C.; Stepsons, Michael 
Rockafellow of Ionia and Rick Rockafellow of Houston; stepdaughter, Ruby 
Aikens of Ionia; sister; Gertrude Cowper of Ypsilanti; Stepsister, Maureen 
Jacobs of Pittsburg; Stepbrother, Eugene Hofer of Brunswick, Ohio.

Special thanks to Duane and Kathy Miles. There will be no funeral services.
