Hoffman Laurine E, Hoffman, 77, of Portland , passed away on May 19, 2006. She was born on July 20, 1928 in Portland the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Fedewa) Huhn. Laurine was a member of St.Patrick's Catholic Church in Portland. She graduated from Portland High School in 1945 and from Sisters of Mercy Nursing School in 1949. On October 29, 1949 she married Lawrence S. Hoffman. Surviving are her husband, Lawrence; children Neal (Coleen) Hoffman of Pewamo, William (Sharon) Hoffman of Portland, Barry (LuAnn) Hoffman of Portland, Barbara (Gary) Winowiecki of St. Johns, Christine (Jim) Surdenik of St. Johns, Constance (Christopher) Brown of Portland, Diana (Mark) Simon of Portland, Gayle (Tony) Thelen of Portland and Lisa Hoffman of Grand Blanc; 33 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Ruth Huhn and Elizabeth Huhn of Portland; numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, may 22, at St.Patrick's Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal followed in Portland Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Memorial contributions may be made to Mother Teresa House, P.O. Box 13004 Lansing, Mi. 48901 or Sparrow Hospice Service in memory of Laurine E. Hoffman.
