Hastings Reminder, 30 Jan 2007

Duane J. Hoffman, age 70, of Lake Odessa, passed away at Spectrum Health-
Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids on Wednesday morning, January 24, 2007.  Duane 
was born in Hastings, on August 21, 1936 and was united in marriage to Judith 
Covey on September 26, 1959.

Duane had retired from Keeler Brass after 42 years of service.  He was active 
in his hobby of steam engines and antique tractors, and was an avid NASCAR 
fan.  Duane loved his family and spoiled his grandkids.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judith; children, Joel and Kathy Hoffman of 
Park Ridge, IL, Beth and Michael Kennedy of Charlotte, and Eric and Lisa 
Hoffman of Ionia; grandchildren, Anna-Marie Hoffman, Benjamin Hoffman, Conner 
Arnold, Cole Hoffman, Andrew Hoffman, and Sam Hoffman; sister and brothers, 
Patricia and Robert Webb, Marvin and Lura Mae Hoffman, Ron and Kathy Hoffman, 
and Earl and Sharon Gregory.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Dorotha (Callihan) and Dewey Dull; 
and brother, Roy Hoffman.

The funeral service was held on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Koops Funeral 
Chapel in Lake Odessa.  Private interment will take place in Lakeside 
Cemetery.  The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to 
Barry Community Hospice.
