Born in Renville, Minn., September 21, 1896, he was the son of Henry and Alvina Lange Hoffman. He attended school at Renville and came to Ionia in 1920. He worked at Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company, Ionia Tile factory and Mitchell-Bentley corporation before retiring in 1962. September 1, 1924, he was married to Mary Krywanski who died October 2, 1957. He then married Alice Thorp Bradfield January 24, 1959. The made their home in Ionia until moving to Clarksville in 1968. Surviving besides the wife, Alice, are a daughter, Mrs. Richard Arnes of Grandville; five stepsons, Donald, John, Gary, Larry and Wendell Bradfield all of Muskegon; step-daughter, Mrs. Robert Husted of Owosso; three grandchildren; 20 step grandchildren; brother, Gustav of rural Ionia; four sisters, Mrs. Olga Herrman of Renville, Minn., Mrs. Lena Possehn of Saranac, Mrs. Otto Schmidt of Long Mont, Colo., and Mrs. Leo Swartz of Greenville. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Leddick funeral home. Monsignor Edward Jaworowicz will officiate and interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery. Family will be at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. ------------ Msgr. Edward Jaworowicz officiated at funeral services Monday at 2p.m. for Paul E. Hoffman, who died Saturday. Interment was at Mt. Olivet cemetery. Bearers were William Hoffman, Ronald Possehn, William Kneale, Alvin Buchholz, Kenneth Staal and Roger Wingeier. Following graveside services a lunch was served to family and friends at Coon school which had been prepared by the neighbors of a brother, Gustav Hoffman of South State road.
