Wave, Thurs. May 26, 1960 Rev. Harry Hoffs Passed Away Wed. Rev. Harry Hoffs of Grand Rapids, chaplain of the Evangelical Ministerial association, passed away unexpectedly at Blodgett Memorial hospital after suffering a heart attack at his home, Wednesday. Rev. Hoffs, well known here, served as the first official chaplain of the Association the last ten years after eight years as pastor of Garfield Park Reformed church. A native of Iowa, he attended college there and completed his education at Hope College and Western Theological seminary at Holland. He had also served the churches at Sibley, Iowa, Coopersville and for 14 years at the Emmanuel Reformed church in Chicago. Surviving besides his wife are four sisters, one of which is Mrs. Dan Kluinsteker of Forest Grove; three brothers which include Dr. M. A. Hoffs of Lake Odessa. Funeral services were held on Friday at 2 pm at the Garfield Park church with burial in the Rosedale Memorial Park.
