Ionia Sentinel Standard, 1997

Muir – Letha Grace Hogan, 89, of Ionia died July 24, 1997 in Ionia  She was 
born June 8, 1908 in Ronald Township, the daughter of John J. and Almeda Eudora 
(Truesdell) Martin.  She had been an Ionia area resident all her life.  She was 
employed at the Chrysler Trim Plant in Lyons for longer than 30 years, retiring 
in 1972.

She is survived by two sons, Roger (Jenny) Candiff of Hemlock, and Dennis 
(Marilyn) Hogan of Glen Rock, Pa.; one daughter, Janet Haskins of Ionia; 11 
grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther Eggelston of 
Ionia; several nieces and nephews including Vivian “Bin,” Doris and Bernice 
Martin, all of Grand Rapids.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Jay and Luther Martin; and 
one sister, Pearl James.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 at the North Plains 
Cemetery on Olmstead Rd. in Muir with Rev. Kendall Harger of Shiloh Community 
Church officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s 
Diabetes Association in care of Cook Funeral Home in Ionia.
