Hogan, 78, passed away at Traverse City Wednesday after a lingering illness of 10 years. He was born August 25, 1879 at Hubbardston and had lived in this city for 47 years. His last residence was at 942 S. Bridge Street. He married Fanny Peebles in Grand Rapids August 26, 1902. From 1910 to 1930, Mr. Hogan was foreman of the machine room at Belding-Hall Manufacturing Co. For the next 17 years he operated a gas station at the corner of Bridge and State Streets in partnership with his brother-in-law, Robert Peebles. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic church, Holy Name Society and a life member of the B.P.O.E., No. 548 in Ionia. Survivors are his wife, Fanny, one daughter, Mrs. John (Mildred) Greenop of Lansing, one brother, John of Ionia, and nieces and nephews. The Rosary was recited Friday evening at 8 o’clock at Ellis Funeral Home where the body remained until Saturday when the funeral service was held at 10 o’clock at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Charles Steves officiating and the burial was in St. Joseph’s cemetery. Pall bearers were: Gerald, Michael, Don and Clark Hogan, Gerald Dunnigan and John Stahlin.
