Jessie was born on March 4, 1925 in Blue Diamond, Perry County, Kentucky to Dewey A. and Lydia (Tackett) Perkins. Jessie had made and collected dolls for many years, she loved to cook, and enjoyed sitting and listening to her sons play music and sing to her. She enjoyed the outdoors, and spent many happy hours fishing and coon hunting. Jessie loved her grandkids, and she was their special “Mammaw.” She is survived by her loving husband, Dewel “Dick” Hogan of Portland; children, Linda Burhans of Portland, James Patrick of Grand Rapids, Ron (Amy) Patrick of Sunfield, Dottie (Bruce) Pline of Lyons, Dewey (Judy) Patrick of Ionia, Val Patrick of Lansing and David Patrick of Portland; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, James (Olene) Perkins of Lansing, Dewey (Rhoda) Perkins, Jr. of Ionia, Roy Perkins of Lake Odessa, Van Martinez of Lake Odessa, Mark Perkins of Florida, and Bobbie (Marvin) Shade of Woodbury; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Danny Patrick and Wendall Patrick; brothers, Paul Perkins and J. D. Perkins, sister, Sandra Perkins Carr; daughter-in-laws, Mary Lou Patrick and Wendy Sue Patrick; and a brother- in-law, sister-in-law and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa on Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral chapel on Wednesday, November 15, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Joe Robbe of the Mount Hope Church in Portland officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
